A fire truck and ambulance responded to a fire alarm at Wawasee High School Monday afternoon.
SYRACUSE — Syracuse-Turkey Creek Fire Department responded to a fire alarm Monday afternoon, Feb. 20, at Wawasee High School.
The alarm activated at approximately 1:35 p.m. when an air compressor in the industrial technology area blew some oil and caused smoke to form, which was then taken by an air handler into nearby areas of the building, said Joy Goshert, assistant superintendent for the Wawasee Community School Corp. There was no fire and no injuries were reported, she added.
The building was evacuated and no one was allowed to reenter the building until the smoke could be cleared and the fire alarm reset.
